Dr. Chan Gurung is an agriculturist cum sociologist, development planner and professional project writer of various I/NGOs and development organizations.
He has over 25 years’ experience of working in different development projects and organizations throughout Nepal.He has already undertaken several consulting servicesand research studies in multi-disciplinary sectors in high degree of professional manner as well. He has pursued his PhD in food security from Tribhuvan University in 2017. His professional expertise include: social safeguards (rural infrastructure development sector); gender equality and social inclusion (GESI); agriculture, livelihoods and food security; participatory monitoring and evaluation (PM&E); program planning and design (PP&D); research and development (R&D); disaster risk reduction/climate change adaptation (DRR/CCA); and technical education and vocational training (TEVT) sectors. He has participated in professional trainings and workshops organized by various development projects and organizations. He is able to guide, coordinate and be fully involved in the design and development of Theory of Change pathways and logical frameworks (LFs) of any projects/programmes includingdeveloping design and monitoring framework (DMF) and providing technical advice for the development of performance indicators.
He has strong influencing, negotiating and collaboration skills.He has sound analytical and high standard report writing skills. He possesses excellent conceptual and analytical abilities, including result-based project management in an intercultural context with good understanding of and experience with development agencies, including project cycle management (PCM). He is quite familiar working in the areas of gender, equity and social inclusion while working in different development projects. He has strong people management, and excellent interpersonal skills. He is enthusiastic in taking initiatives and willing to work under pressure and exhibit a high level of flexibility, and hold a high level of integrity and honesty. He is self-motivated, confident, hardworking, and able to work independently. He has strategic, creative, and innovative thinking with decision making and problem solving skills. He is goal and result oriented and has demonstrated ability to analyze, conceptualize, manage and monitor programs. He has his ability working independently, making decisions, thinking out of the box and initiating changes and learning and adapting quickly.
