DurgaThapa is a Chief Executive Officer(CEO) of the Academy of Innovation for Economic Development (ACAIED) Nepal. Mrs. Thapa is a professional educator of higher learning with a Master’s degree in Economics from Tribhuvan University, Nepal. She has been teaching for 12 years in different Colleges in Kathmandu. Currently, Ms. Thapa is working at Jaya Multiple Campus (JMC) Gokarna, Nepal College of Travel and Tourism Management (NCTTM) Gaushala, Academy of Commerce (AOC) Putalisadak for C. A. in the faculty of Economics.
Besides this Mrs. Thapa also worked as a Research and Education Consultant Officer at Planning and Development department, Securities Board of Nepal, (2012 – 2013) and Executive Director at Nepal Edu Center 2013 to 2o15 as well as Secretary of Executive Board at Agragaman Saving & Credit Cooperative Ltd. 2009 to 2016.
Ms. Thapa has good leadership qualities; along with it, she has good motivating, writing and communication skills, which an institution always looks for in their employees. She has joined various national and international training and skill development program. She has also contributed to writing and editing the article for the national newspaper and online portal.
She is an emerging and young Economist and has expertise in microeconomics, macroeconomics and tourism. She has capabilities in project management, planning, and analyzing. Her area of interest includes social reform and women empowerment with economic development and agriculture transformation. She feels happy when she works in such a sector that supports women’s empowerment, economic well-being as well as children and girls Security.
